Ethnologia Scandinavica publishes peer reviewed articles in English based on all ethnographical branches of material and social culture. In addition, reviews, biographical notes and reports reflect ethnological contributions and activities in the Nordic countries. The publication profile is ethnological and ethnographic.

The journal welcomes both traditional articles presenting investigations, cultural analyses and their results, and methodological and theoretical articles. The aim of the journal is to mirror what is going on in the Nordic ethnological research field as well as being a part of its development. Although Ethnologia Scandinavica collects articles, reviews and biographical notes from all Nordic countries its impact is not only restricted to these countries. ES is read in the Nordic countries as well as and in Europe and the rest of the world.

Ethnologia Scandinavica publishes peer-reviewed articles in English covering all ethnographic aspects of material and social culture. In addition, it includes reviews, biographical notes and reports reflecting ethnological contributions and activities in the Nordic countries.
