The Journal of Design History is an international academic journal of design history that focuses on a wide range of topics in the field of design, including but not limited to the history of furniture, product, graphic, craft, fashion, textiles, architecture, interior decoration and exhibition design. The journal's global perspective and reach reflect the diversity and cross-cultural importance of design history research.

The core position of the journal is to explore the historical development of design from a humanistic perspective, which includes the analysis of design ideas, the evolution of style, the creative process of designers, and the impact of design on society and culture. Through this humanistic perspective, the journal aims to reveal how design reflects and shapes human values, lifestyles, and social structures.
